Built for engineers

Everything you reach for,
in one place

Strix brings calculators, formula sheets, and reference data across the core areas of engineering into one fast, focused app — so you spend less time searching and more time solving.

Strength Theory

Size beams and columns with confidence — work out deflection, slope, and bending moments across standard load cases, then check members against buckling and fatigue.

  • Beam deflection
  • Column buckling
  • Fatigue & fracture
  • Von Mises stress

Machine Elements

Design the parts that fasten and transmit power, backed by standardized component data so your numbers match the catalogue.

  • Bolt sizing (VDI 2230)
  • Gear & belt ratios
  • Circlips (DIN 471/472)

Material

Look up the properties that drive every calculation — from stiffness to strength — without leaving the app.

  • Young's & shear modulus
  • Yield & tensile strength
  • Hardness & density

Math

Go from a quick formula look-up to a full symbolic solution, with step-by-step working you can follow.

  • Geometry & trig
  • Algebra
  • Symbolic calculator

Mechanics

Physics and dynamics reference at your fingertips, plus a deep library of engineering quantities and constants.

  • Newton's laws
  • Energy & torque
  • 200+ quantities

Technical Drawings

Get welds right on the drawing — pick the joint type and let Strix size the weld, including intermittent welds, to your plate thickness.

  • Fillet, V, butt & more
  • Intermittent welds
  • Weld sizing

Tweak formulas.
Save them for next time.

Strix isn't a black box. Formulas and calculations are editable with a familiar, expression-based syntax — adjust a value, add your own variables, or build a calculation from the ground up, then store it in your workspace and reuse it whenever you need.

  • Familiar, expression-based syntax
  • Edit built-in formulas — or write your own from scratch
  • Save calculations & notes to your personal workspace
  • Pick up where you left off, on any device

FAQ

What is Strix?

Strix is a digital engineering toolkit for mechanical engineers. It brings calculations, formula sheets, standards data, and reference tables into one application — replacing the workflow of searching through physical handbooks and scattered resources.

What tools and calculators are included?

Strix includes tools for beam deflection (15+ load cases), column buckling, bolt sizing (VDI 2230), weld sizing, gear ratio calculations, circlip reference data (DIN 471/472), cross-section properties, and a unit converter. On the reference side you get formula sheets for math and physics, a library of 200+ engineering quantities, 40+ physical constants, and a symbolic calculator with step-by-step solutions.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The Personal plan includes a 30-day free trial. You get full access to all tools during the trial period. You will only be billed when the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before that without being charged.

What is the difference between the Personal and Organisation plans?

The Personal plan is for individual engineers and includes all calculators, reference tools, and a personal notes workspace. The Organisation plan adds a shared team workspace, seat-based licensing, member invitations, and admin controls — designed for engineering teams and companies.

Väldigt användbart i studierna

Hittade Strix under en praktik och har använt det sedan dess. Det som är bra är att man snabbt hittar formler utan att gräva i böcker. Saknar lite fördjupningsmaterial på vissa ämnen, men antar att det kommer mer snart
